About Me
Classical turned Rockabilly
Steve Olson is a classically trained guitarist who fell in love with rockabilly. After earning a degree in classical guitar under the tutelage of Edmonton’s maestro Carl Lotsberg, Steve gravitated towards the thumbpicking that his Uncle Lyndy had shown him during family visits. By using Chet Atkins thumbpicking and playing bass lines and melody simultaneously, he is able to authentically recreate the country and rockabilly sounds of the 1950’s.
In addition to playing solo guitar performances in folk, blues, ragtime, jazz, surf, hillbilly and rockabilly, he also performs with his trio Stooking By Moonlight.
Steve comes alive onstage when he is engaging audiences with the music and stories from these golden eras of music.

Behind the Scenes
Nathalie Stanley Olson
Nathalie is the other (better?) half of the JC&R show. She works as the AV Tech, communications and promotions, photographer and videographer, idea generator, and cheerleader. She knows all the words to all the songs, but please don't ask her to sing. She is TCB (taking care of business).
